Bloordale Village (Bloordale) is an area in Toronto known for shopping and arts. The district is named after the Bloordale Village Business Improvement Area (BIA). The boundaries are roughly along Bloor Street from Lansdowne Avenue to Dufferin Street. It is west of downtown Toronto.

Gentrifciation

Bloordale has undergone significant gentrication over the past 10 years. It is now one of Toronto's 'up and coming' art districts. Some arts establishments include the Mercer Union Centre for Contemporary Art, Toronto Free Gallery and Funktion Gallery.

The retail strip on Bloor Street also has a many small restaurants and retail outlets.

Demographics

The Bloordale surrounding area is a diverse, mixed-income community. Some languages spoken include Portuguese, Caribbean, Italian, Bangladeshi, Latin American, Pakistani, Sri Lankan, Burmese, Chinese and Vietnamese.
