Edward Burtynsky is a respected Canadian fine art photographer. Burtynsky depictis global industrial landscapes and his works are on display in the collections of 50+ museums around the world.

Burtynsky was born in 1955 at St. Catharines, Ontario. He is of Ukranian descent. Burtynsky is a graduate of Ryerson University.

Burtynsky founded Toronto Image Works in 1985. It is a darkroom rental facility, custom photo laboratory, digital imaging and new media computer-training centre catering to all levels of Toronto's art community. Mr. Burtynsky also sits on the board of directors for Toronto’s international photography festival - Contact and The Ryerson Gallery and Research Center.

Burtynsky's speaking engagements include the Art Gallery of Ontario, and Ryerson University in Toronto.
