On June 26 and 27th, Toronto was the host city for the G20 Summit which welcomed leaders of the Group of 20 wealthiest nations. The theme for the G20 Toronto Summit was “Recovery and New Beginnings”.

The summit was held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre . A 3km long security perimeter was placed along King Street to the north, Lake Shore Boulevard to the south, Yonge Street to the east, and Spadina Avenue to the west. The area within the security perimeter was restricted to those with proper credentials including security officials and G-20 delegates, journalists and some members of the service industry (e.g. those work at the Royal York Hotel which is inside the perimeter).

Protests

Protests took place at various locations including Queen's Park (the designated protest spot), along Queen Street between Bay Street and Spadina Avenue, King Street at Bay Street, and College Park.
