Matter of Time has been offering treasures and inspiration to the public since 2005, when its doors first opened at Jones Ave. and Gerrard St. The store is nestled snugly between trendy Leslieville and cozy Riverdale, which makes this the perfect shop for interesting house & home decor and everything in between.

The duo at this tiny shop specialize in antiques, collectibles, nostalgia, rarities, oddities, novelties and more! This means there is always a constantly changing array of vintage merchandise, such as jewellery, glassware, musical media, electronics, books, etc.

Artists, props departments, set decorators, home stagers, families, and most other types of people will find something they would love to have, or find something they've been searching for at Matter of Time, possibly in a drawer or tin, on a shelf, in a showcase, or perhaps buried in the basement.

Steve, owner of the store, also works with salvaged wood to create custom pieces for clients, such as tables, shelves, bars or bookcases. He has also used windows to make display cabinets and kitchen cupboards; his most prominent piece can be seen on the third floor of Riverdale Hub on Gerrard St.

The shop may seem a little intimidating at first glance because there are treasures EVERYWHERE, but isn't that part of the thrill? Being able to dig through everything else to find the Coca-Cola belt buckle or the Americana candelabra you've been looking for this whole time? It's true: first they find the treasures, then they bury them again for you!

True to its slogan, "We have the matter if you have the time!"
