Salad King

Located on Yonge St. mere footsteps from the heart of Ryerson University, Salad King offers creative Thai food dishes at competitive prices. Open seven days a week (until 11 pm on the weekend), Salad King is a great place to grab a bite to eat or just relax between classes. Nearly all dishes are listed for less than $10.00.

Ali Baba’s:

Ali Baba’s Middle Eastern Cuisine is a popular hot spot with multiple locations in Toronto, including once convenient to Ryerson and the University of Toronto on Church St. Ali Baba’s is a unique place to grab a quick snack or a midday meal. Popular sandwiches like the Falafel and Lamb and Beef Shawarma won’t break the bank either, with each costing only $6.99.

College Park Food Court

In the basement food court of College Park, students in the area have access to various fast food restaurants as well as pre-made food the College Park Metro at reasonable prices. Available are Tim Hortons, Taco Bell, KFC, Duck (Asian fast food) and more.

Elephant and Castle

Elephant & Castle is a popular restaurant by day and happening bar by night. Located on Yonge St. minutes away from U. of Toronto and Ryerson University, the pub employs a classic British atmosphere with a modern sheen. Offering everything from Lamb Curry to Spaghetti and Meatballs, Elephant & Castle can suit almost any taste, and once the sun goes down it becomes a hotspot with a unique selection of imported beer, wine, and scotch.

Made in China

Inexpensive Chinese food in a restaurant with trendy decor. Look for the massive "Made in China" tag out front. Lunch specials available. The proprietors also own the Korean BBQ restaurant next door which also has lunch specials for hungry hungry students.

B Espresso Bar

With three locations in Toronto, including Dundas St. across from Ryerson, B Espresso Bar is a hip place to grab a gourmet coffee or just sit and relax while taking in the hustle and bustle of downtown Toronto. Aside from a hip design and ultra-cool décor, B offers up some of the best coffee in town, including espresso, Italian roast, and dark roasted Columbian coffee. If coffee isn’t your thing, try B’s for breakfast. They offer a tantalizing menu of scones, pastries and egg frittatas, in addition to out-of-this-world flatbread sandwiches at lunch.

The Beer Cellar

Located one block North from Ryerson University at 30 Carlton St., The Beer Cellar is a popular watering hole for all types of patrons. With over 23 imported beers from several different countries, The Beer Cellar is sure to satisfy any thirst. The Cellar is located inside the Days Inn Hotel and is a 100% smoke-free environment.

Milo’s Pita

Located in the Toronto Life Center on the corner of Yonge and Dundas, Milo’s is often touted as one of, if not the best Shawarmas in the city. Fresh ingredients and painstaking care put into each order make Milo’s a culinary treat, and is a convenient place for Ryerson and University of Toronto students to pick up a hot meal at a great price.

Horseshoe Tavern

In operation for nearly 70 years, Horseshoe Tavern is one of Toronto’s hottest spots to catch a live music act. Located conveniently on Queen St. West, Horseshoe has welcomed many notable acts over the years, including Arcade Fire, Franz Ferdinand, and The Decemeberists over the past decade. Horseshoe features an ample bar selection, and even severs a variety of liquor. Horseshoe has musical acts from across the world performing nearly every night of the week.
