Yonge St. is the longest street in the world and runs north- south through the city of Toronto. It is 1896km and ends in a small town in Minnesota. It divides the city into its west and east ends.

Yonge St. was named after Sir. George Yonge, the British secretary for war. Construction began in 1793.
